About me

Hi, I’m Shish.

I grew up in Delhi, India and went to college in Illinois. Somewhere in between, I got curious about how capital actually works when you look at it up close. Who decides what money costs. Who gets to borrow. Which models sit behind the spreadsheets that move billions.

Thirteen years later, I’ve worked at KPMG, Northern Trust, and now Charles Schwab, where I direct AI and data science on the treasury team. The full details are on the portfolio section if you want them.

The thing I keep noticing, after all those years, is that the best people in finance have unusually quiet inner lives. They’ve done work on themselves that most technical professionals skip. They can sit with discomfort, watch their own thinking, and stay steady when numbers shift under them. That combination is rare. It’s also the territory I want to write in.

So this letter is what I’m learning at the place where money, discipline, and self-honesty meet. Some weeks it leans more toward markets. Other weeks it leans more toward the inner stuff. The through-line is always the same: useful for anyone trying to build a life that compounds.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, you’re in the right place. Letters go out Sunday mornings.
